Tips for Alleviating the Effects of Spring Eye Allergies

Nasal allergies are often highlighted during the spring season. While eye allergies should not be underestimated, nothing is more annoying than the feeling of something in your eye.

Tips for Alleviating the Effects of Spring Eye Allergies

During the spring season, if your eyes are red and irritated, it could be an allergy. Symptoms may occur independently, but they are usually accompanied by sneezing, snoring, or nasal congestion associated with nasal allergies.

Eye protection in spring

According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the most common symptoms of eye allergies are:

• Itching.

• Redness.

• Burning.

• Clear, watery discharge.

• Increased sensitivity to light.

• Inflammation of the eye.

Spring eye allergies, also called seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, affect vision clarity due to dry eyes, and symptoms worsen if you are near triggers.

Ways to Relieve Eye Discomfort

Maryland Eye Care Center experts offer 14 tips to reduce spring eye allergy triggers:

1. Use weather apps for pollen forecasts, which identify high pollen days.

2. Keep windows closed to keep allergens out of your home.
