4 Foods That Make You Aging and Wrinkle

If you want to look and feel as young as possible, for as long as possible, experts recommend cutting back on 4 things in your diet.

4 Foods That Make You Aging and Wrinkle

The first two items that Raelyn Brooks, a registered dietitian and dean of the University of Phoenix College of Nursing, recommends cutting back on are artificial sweeteners and full-fat dairy products.

Artificial Sweeteners

“Artificial sweeteners are man-made chemicals designed to trick the brain into thinking it’s consuming sugar but without the calories,” Brooks tells Surry Life. “Anytime you have those kinds of compounds that stimulate the brain and cause inflammation, that’s a bad thing.”

Whole Milk

Whole milk is the second item Brooks warns against. “It’s higher in fat, and research has linked high-fat diets to inflammation. When inflammation is stimulated, cells can’t regenerate as efficiently and start to break down.”

Coffee

Dr. Lott also mentions two other ingredients that can dry out the skin, and therefore wrinkles, which are coffee and salt.

In a TikTok video, Dr. Lott, a New York City acupuncturist with over 300,000 followers, advises against drinking too much coffee, as too much can dry out your skin and cause wrinkles.

Researchers have also found that caffeine can reduce the formation of collagen, a protein that keeps skin firm and healthy.

Salt

Dr. Lott warns that consuming too much salt can draw water from your skin, leading to dryness and making it more prone to wrinkles.

Health experts also stress the importance of moderation in eating any type of flavor, and eating healthy foods and fruits that are beneficial to health to strengthen immunity.
