Smart Ring Helps Early Diagnosis of Diseases
Oura has launched a new feature called “Symptom Radar” for its Ring 3 and Ring 4 smart rings, which helps in early diagnosis of diseases.
The Finnish company explained that the new “Symptom Radar” feature displays biometric data that deviates significantly from the usual measurements, noting that in total more than 40 biometric values are analyzed, including skin temperature, respiration rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and resting time.
Demographic data
The new feature also takes into account demographic data such as the user’s age, to provide more accurate results.
Given the large number of data points analyzed, the “Symptom Radar” feature aims to detect the first signs of disease, even if the individual values measured are still within the user’s normal range.
Symptom Radar
Aura noted that the "Symptom Radar" function works less accurately during pregnancy or with some chronic diseases, stressing that the new function should not be used as a signal to stop taking the medication.
The "Symptom Radar" function is activated automatically after the update, so the user does not need to take any additional steps to use the new function.
