The Difference Between Drinking 4 and 8 Glasses of Water a Day for Health
Drinking 8 glasses of water a day seems to be good advice, according to a new research review at the University of California of data related to water intake and hydration.
The research team gathered evidence from 18 previous trials, in the first evaluation of this large scale of the benefits of water consumption, whether for kidney stones, diabetes, migraines, and other health problems.
The Importance of Drinking Water
According to "Health Day", it turned out that the most important benefit of drinking this healthy amount of water is preventing kidney stones, followed by losing or controlling weight.
The researchers found that those who had kidney stones, and then drank 8 glasses a day after that, were able to prevent the stones from recurring.
Dr. Benjamin Brier, head of the department of urology at the university, said: "For such a comprehensive and simple intervention, the evidence was not clear, and the benefits were not well proven before."

Studies have shown that drinking 6 or more glasses of water a day also helps with weight loss, although 8 glasses a day is better for adults, while researchers have found no evidence that it helps teens lose weight.
Headaches appeared to be less frequent if adults increased their water intake, and other trials have found that plenty of water can help prevent migraines and urinary tract infections.

Drinking about 4 glasses of water a day helps people with diabetes control their blood sugar.
Data has shown that drinking more water also helps younger adults lower their blood pressure to healthy levels.
However, Briere cautioned that drinking too much water may not be right for everyone. “Someone who occasionally experiences frequent urination may benefit from drinking less,” he said. “There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to water intake.”
