Warning of "Embarrassing" Symptoms of One of the Most Dangerous Types of Cancer
British health authorities have urged people to pay attention to 3 symptoms that may be embarrassing, but they warn of a potentially fatal disease, which are symptoms that appear when entering the toilet.
The British Health Service said that these signs indicate the second most deadly form of cancer in the United Kingdom, according to the Mirror newspaper.
Embarrassing Serious Symptoms
Around 44,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the United Kingdom each year, which represents 11% of all cancer cases.
It is also responsible for 10% of all cancer deaths, leading to nearly 17,000 deaths annually.
As with any disease, the earlier symptoms are detected, the sooner treatment can be sought.
The three main symptoms of bowel cancer are persistent blood in the stool, a persistent change in bowel habits, and persistent pain in the lower abdomen, such as bloating or discomfort.
Although other health problems can also cause similar symptoms, these should be taken seriously, especially if they do not go away.
Why it’s important to see a doctor
The NHS advises seeking medical advice if these symptoms last for more than three weeks, and says the symptoms can make people feel embarrassed to talk about them, but they shouldn’t let that stop them from seeing a GP.
Bowel cancer screenings have shown that nearly nine in 10 people with bowel cancer are over the age of 60.
However, worrying new statistics have shown that cases are rising most rapidly among people under 50 over the past few decades.
