Turkish plane makes emergency landing in New York after pilot dies
Fainted and failed rescue attempts
Turkish Airlines announced that a pilot died during a flight he was flying after suffering a health crisis, which led to the plane making an emergency landing in New York, on Wednesday.
Turkish Airlines spokesman Yahya Ustun wrote on the "X" platform that the plane, which took off Tuesday evening from Seattle, on the west coast of the United States, was heading to Istanbul.
Failed rescue attempts for the pilot
The company spokesman explained that "the pilot of our Airbus 350 plane... on flight "TK 204" fainted during the flight.
Emergency landing of the plane
He added, "After a failed attempt to provide first aid, the members of the cockpit (consisting of two other pilots) decided to make an emergency landing, but our pilot passed away before landing."
The Turkish company noted that the pilot, 59 years old, had successfully passed the periodic medical examination in early March.
