The young man, Badie Makram, from the city of Abu Qurqas in Minya Governorate in southern Egypt, breathed his last as a result of his injuries in the incident, after the death of two other Egyptian sisters in the incident.

Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, made a phone call this morning, Tuesday, with Juan de la Fuente, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, to discuss the repercussions of the incident and to review the latest developments.

Shooting incident in Mexico

Ambassador Tamim Khilaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Mexican Foreign Minister took the initiative to express his deep regret for the painful incident, and requested that his condolences be conveyed to the Egyptian government and the families of the victims, stressing that the investigations are ongoing and that the Egyptian government will be informed of their results as soon as they are completed.

For his part, the Egyptian minister asked the Mexican government to quickly complete the investigations and necessary procedures so that the bodies of the victims can be transferred to Egypt, in addition to providing the necessary medical care for the injured.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry intervenes

Abdel-Ati directed the Egyptian ambassador to Mexico to travel to the city, which is about 850 kilometers from the Mexican capital, to follow up on the situation, complete the procedures for transferring the bodies, and determine the needs of the injured.

Information obtained by "Al Arabiya.net" and "Al Hadath.net" revealed some details of the incident, as it turned out that two trucks carrying a number of immigrants of Egyptian, Cuban, Nepalese, Indian, and Pakistani nationalities, who were on their way to America via the Mexican border, were shot at by soldiers from the Mexican army.

The information revealed that the Mexican soldiers believed that the passengers were criminal gangs in the area, so they opened fire on them, resulting in the death and injury of a number of passengers in the two trucks.

The Mexican authorities stated that the incident resulted in the death of 6 people and the injury of 12 others, including Egyptians.

It was later revealed that the Egyptian victims in the accident were a father named Saad from the city of Abu Qurqas in the Minya Governorate in southern Egypt. He was coming from Mexico to the state of Tennessee in the United States with his two daughters and young son when the accident occurred. The two girls were killed and the father was shot four times in the leg, as was his young son, who suffered serious injuries.
