Hezbollah Killed in Israeli Raid on Southern Lebanon
Amid rising tensions between Lebanon's Hezbollah and Israel over the killing of prominent leader Fouad Shukr last week, Israel carried out a raid on the town of Meifdoun in southern Lebanon.
Medical and security sources reported that an Israeli strike on a house in the town of Meifdoun in southern Lebanon on Tuesday killed four people.
A security source also said that all the dead were males. A Lebanese security source confirmed that the four dead were "Hezbollah fighters."
Israeli Raid on Lebanon
The town of Meifdoun is located about 30 kilometers north of Lebanon's border with Israel.
In addition, Israel launched another raid on the town of Khiyam, which resulted in the initial toll of one person being injured.
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman announced that the raid targeted a military building in the Nabatiyeh area in southern Lebanon, which was allegedly used by Hezbollah's Southern Front Unit.

This raid comes amid fears of a regional escalation after Iran and its ally Hezbollah threatened to respond to the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran in an operation attributed to Israel, and the assassination of the party's military commander, Fouad Shukr, in an Israeli strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut last week.
Exchange of fire
The party and Israel have been exchanging fire across the border since the war in the Gaza Strip began between Israel and Hamas on October 7.
Since the start of the escalation, Hezbollah has announced targeting military sites and gatherings of soldiers in towns in northern Israel, while Israel confirms launching air and artillery bombardments targeting "infrastructure" for the party.
Since the start of the escalation across the border, at least 554 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 360 Hezbollah fighters and at least 116 civilians, according to a count by Agence France-Presse, based on Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah statements.
The Israeli authorities announced the deaths of 22 soldiers and 25 civilians.
