Netanyahu holds meeting in basement amid fears of intelligence headquarters being hit
Fears of an Iranian strike in the coming hours
Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the security cabinet in a basement at a military base in Tel Aviv, while reports indicated that intelligence headquarters would be among the targets of an expected Hezbollah attack.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that there are estimates that the expected Hezbollah attack will include launching precision missiles targeting the Kiryat airbase in Tel Aviv and other intelligence centers.
Netanyahu holds meeting in a basement
It explained that Netanyahu will hold a meeting this evening in the basement of the Kiryat airbase, during which he will discuss the issue of when to inform citizens of an expected attack from Lebanon and Iran, assuming there is information and evidence of initial activity before the expected response.
It is worth noting that most recent cabinet meetings have not been held in the basement, according to security sources.
Meanwhile, the commander of the US Central Command, General Michael Kurilla, visited Israel again today to continue coordination in preparation for an Iranian attack, which is General Kurilla's second visit since the beginning of the week.
In Kirya, Kurilla met with senior officials in the security establishment and discussed with them enhancing preparations for an Iranian attack and its agents against Israel.
Warning of an Adventure
In addition, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant sent a message in Arabic today, Thursday, warning the Lebanese of what he described as Hezbollah's new "adventure", under orders from Iran.
Galant said in a tweet in Arabic via his account on the "X" website, that "Iran and Hezbollah are taking Lebanon and its people hostage in the service of their narrow sectarian and religious interests."
Galant indicated that Israel wants "prosperity and stability" on the northern border, adding: "We will not give Hezbollah militia the opportunity to undermine stability on the border and in the region."
He who plays with fire heralds destruction
He warned of what he described as "an adventure without vision" by Hezbollah, adding: "He who plays with fire heralds destruction," according to his expression.
Galant warned on Wednesday that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah could cause the Lebanese state to "pay a heavy price."
"In the current situation, Nasrallah could drag Lebanon into paying a very heavy price. They cannot even imagine what could happen," Galant said.
"It could escalate into war. It is not theoretical, it is real," he added.
