Arab country informs airlines to avoid flying over Iranian airspace on Thursday

For 3 hours from 4:30 to 7:30 Tehran time

Egypt has asked civil aviation companies to avoid flying over Iranian airspace on Thursday.

Iranian airspace

The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that in light of the notification received from the relevant Iranian authorities, all civil aviation companies have been warned to avoid flying over Iranian airspace today, Thursday, for 3 hours from 4:30 to 7:30 Tehran time, in order to conduct military exercises.

The Ministry of Aviation stated that the measure comes out of concern for the safety of Egyptian aircraft passengers, and in implementation of international standards to avoid any dangers that affect aviation safety.

Israel prepares for an Iranian attack

Amid Israeli security preparations and anticipation of a possible Iranian attack in response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh last week in Tehran, the Israeli Chief of Staff confirmed that Tel Aviv is capable of launching rapid attacks at any time and in any place.

"We will know how to launch a very rapid attack anywhere in Lebanon, anywhere in Gaza, anywhere in the Middle East, above or below ground," Herzi Halevi said from the Tel Nof military base.

He referred to the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as Ismail Haniyeh's successor, saying: "Sinwar's new job title will not deter us from searching for him and killing him."

This comes as the Iranian IRNA news agency reported earlier on Wednesday that the Iranian army's eastern air defense sites and platforms had been equipped with radar, missile systems and local drones in the presence of the commander of the air defense forces, Ali Reza Sabahi Fard.

On Tuesday, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, reiterated that there was no escape from responding to the assassination of the prominent leader in the party's ranks, Fouad Shukr, or Haniyeh.

Military escalation

It is noteworthy that in recent days, fears of a military escalation between Iran and its allies on the one hand, and Israel on the other, have increased, following the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran, and the assassination of Shukr in an Israeli strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut last week.

While Israel has not yet confirmed or denied its responsibility for the assassination of Haniyeh.

With the escalation of fears, the United States announced the strengthening of its military system in the region, and the deployment of more warships and fighter aircraft to protect its soldiers and its ally Israel.

While international parties are working at several levels to avoid escalation in the region.
