A huge fire devours several shops in East Cairo
A huge fire devoured several shops in Salam City, east of the Egyptian capital Cairo, causing extensive damage and losses.
The authorities received a report of a fire breaking out in some shops at the Salam bus station in Cairo, and fire engines and civil defense forces were immediately dispatched to control the situation and extinguish the fire.
The forces were able to control the fire, contain it, and prevent it from spreading to other neighboring areas, while the authorities began to assess the losses, inspect the damage, and determine the amount of compensation.
The authorities are currently trying to determine the cause of the fire and whether it was due to an electrical short circuit in one of the shops or due to the high temperature that reached unprecedented levels.
The Public Prosecution Office was notified and took over the investigation.
