German Bild predicts the date of the Israeli-Hezbollah war
The German newspaper Bild reported on Monday, citing sources, that Israel may launch a military operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon in the second half of July.
According to the newspaper, Western diplomats indicated that the military operation in southern Lebanon may begin "in the third or fourth week of July."
The southern Lebanon front has witnessed an escalation in the intensity of clashes recently, amid international warnings that Israel will now turn its attention from Gaza to Lebanon.
While the Israeli army announced that it would redeploy some of its forces to the north, American officials confirmed to the New York Times that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant "changed his position" regarding opening a new front for war in the north with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In turn, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah warned last week that no place in Israel "will be immune" from his fighters' missiles in the event of a war, the day after the Israeli army announced the approval of operational plans for an attack in Lebanon.
Recently, several regional and European countries have announced their intention to evacuate their citizens from Lebanon due to the conditions that threaten to escalate the confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah that have been ongoing for months.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib called for replacing the travel warning statements issued by some brotherly and friendly countries with solidarity positions, and intensifying efforts and pressure on Israel.
