Saudi Foreign Ministry comments on Israeli bombing of Hodeidah

The Saudi Foreign Ministry called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and distance the region and its people from the dangers of wars, and for the international community and influential and effective parties to assume their roles and responsibilities to end conflicts in the region. The Foreign Ministry affirmed the continuation of Saudi efforts to end the war on Gaza, and its continued support for peace efforts in Yemen to spare its brotherly people further suffering and achieve security and peace in the region.

The spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the Kingdom has no relation or participation in targeting Hodeidah in Yemen, and added that Saudi Arabia will not allow its airspace to be violated by any party, according to what the Ministry of Defense stated on its account on the "X" platform.

The Israeli army announced on Saturday that its fighter jets had bombed Houthi military targets in Yemen, and said in a statement that Israeli fighter jets had bombed Houthi military targets in the Hodeidah port area in Yemen "in response to hundreds of attacks on Israel in recent months."

The army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, added in a televised statement that the port that was attacked by Israeli aircraft is used "as a main supply route for delivering Iranian weapons from Iran to Yemen, starting with the drone used in the attack on Friday morning" in Tel Aviv.

He also confirmed that Saturday's strikes "were carried out by the Israeli army alone." In contrast, a member of the Houthi political bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, announced via the "X" platform that Israel "will pay the price" for its strikes in Yemen.
