7 killed in anti-Turkey protests in northern Syria
After violence against Syrians in Turkey
The death toll from bloody anti-Turkey protests in northern Syria has risen to seven, a medical source and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told Agence France-Presse on Tuesday, after violence against Syrian interests in Turkey.
On Tuesday, Turkish authorities arrested 474 people after violence against Syrian interests in Turkey following accusations of a Syrian harassing a child.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on the "X" website that "474 people were arrested after the provocative acts" carried out against Syrians in Turkey.
This comes as the head of the Communications Department in the Turkish Presidency, Fahrettin Altun, confirmed that his country is closely monitoring incitement against Syrian refugees and provocations that cause tension, following acts of vandalism against property belonging to Syrian citizens in the Kayseri province in central Turkey.
Alton said in a statement published on the "X" website, "We are closely following the incitement against Syrian refugees and provocations that cause tension.. We point out that efforts to destabilize public order in Turkey through provocative actions will not achieve their goals."
Meanwhile, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of 67 people involved in acts of vandalism against property belonging to citizens in the central Turkish province of Kayseri, which they carried out following rumors about a Syrian refugee raping a Syrian girl.
Kaya said in a statement: "Turkish security forces arrested 67 people who participated in acts of vandalism against property belonging to Syrian refugees in Kayseri province last night, Sunday, which they carried out following the rape of a Syrian girl by a Syrian refugee."
Yerlikaya explained that "Turkish citizens arrested the Syrian refugee who raped the girl last night in the Melk Gazi district of Kayseri province and handed him over to the security authorities."
