Death of Syrian presidential advisor Luna al-Shibl

Syria announced on Friday the death of advisor to the presidency, Luna al-Shibl, after being involved in a traffic accident in Damascus.

The Syrian presidency said in a statement that it "mourns advisor Luna al-Shibl, who died today (Friday) after being involved in a painful traffic accident."

The statement added: "Luna al-Shibl worked during the past years as director of the political and media office in the presidency, then as a special advisor to the presidency."

It concluded: "The presidency offers its sincere condolences and sympathy to her family and relatives."
