Video: JFK Airport fire leaves 9 injured, dozens of flights canceled
Nine people suffered minor injuries and dozens of flights were canceled after a small fire broke out at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City.
Several people were taken to the hospital after an escalator caught fire at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told ABC News. The fire sent smoke billowing through Terminal 8 at around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Nine people suffered smoke inhalation, four of whom were taken to the hospital. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Officials said about 960 people were evacuated by bus to another area of the terminal.
Officials said operations resumed at the terminal around 8:15 a.m., and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
