The party said in a statement that its attack was in response to an Israeli raid on Thursday, which resulted in the killing of a field commander in the group's Radwan forces in southern Lebanon.

On Thursday, 6 people were killed, including the leader of the elite (Radwan) forces, Ali Jaafar Maatouq, in Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, there has been an almost daily exchange of shelling across the Lebanese-Israeli border between Hezbollah, which supports Hamas, and its allied factions on the one hand, and the Israeli army on the other.

The intensity of the shelling increases depending on the positions or when Israel targets field commanders.

According to "Agence France-Presse", Israeli shelling since the start of the escalation has resulted in the deaths of 516 people in Lebanon, most of them fighters and 104 civilians.

In contrast, the Israeli side announced the killing of 18 soldiers and 13 civilians.
