The American news network "CNN" indicated that the famous blue "King" shoe made of suede was sold for $ 152,000 at the British auction house "Henry Aldridge & Son".

The bidding on the shoe, which was described as "a distinctive piece of memorabilia that represented a phenomenon in popular culture in the 20th century", started at $ 69,000, and its price reached $ 152,000.

Presley wore the shoe, which is size 44, on and off the stage during the 1950s, according to the description on the auction site.

Presley wore the shoes while singing "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You" and "Hound Dog" on "The Steve Allen Show" in 1956, according to the auctioneer, and later gave the shoes to his friend Alan Fortas in 1958, the night before he was discharged from the U.S. Army. The information about the shoes was verified by Jimmy Velvet, a close friend of Presley's and founder of a museum dedicated to the late artist.
