Spain beat Germany to reach semi-finals
Spain secured a last-gasp win over hosts Germany on Friday in their opening quarter-final at the European Championship.
Spain won 2-1 when they scored the winner in the final minute of extra time.
Mikel Merino scored in extra time to give Spain a thrilling win.
The match appeared headed for penalties after the score was tied 1-1 until the 119th minute when Merino rose high to head home a cross from Dani Olmo.
After a goalless first half despite several chances, Olmo put Spain ahead in the sixth minute of the second half.
Florian Wirtz equalised for Germany just before the end of regulation time.
Spain will meet the winner of Portugal or France in the semi-finals later on Friday.
