Moroccan TikToker Involved in Fraud and Embezzlement in France
French authorities tracked down a Moroccan-French influencer known as "Kenza Boubit" on TikTok, suspected of involvement in fraud cases involving funds intended for an orphanage in Morocco, and arrested her on Thursday, upon her return from Dubai.
French media revealed that Kenza Ben Cherif, who has more than a million followers on TikTok and Snapchat, was involved in fraud operations in which she used fictitious scenarios that enabled her to obtain $350,000, and was also involved in cases of embezzlement of funds from an orphanage in Morocco.
The investigations conducted by the French police revealed that the suspect had fabricated a fictional story to defraud her friend, claiming that she needed large sums of money to pay the ransom of her son who was threatened with death by her friend, before the friend discovered that he was the victim of a sophisticated fraud.
Investigations revealed that the accused did not stop there, but rather threatened a French couple and demanded $200,000 from them, after installing surveillance cameras in their home, in addition to using a location tracking application to stalk them.
The influencer had previously been accused of embezzling significant sums of money amounting to $200,000, which were donations directed to an association in the city of Marrakech.
