Huge fire devours a paint factory in Egypt

The huge fire continued for 5 continuous hours due to its severity, as the flames spread quickly because the factory contained large quantities of flammable materials.

Civil defense forces arrived within minutes of the fire breaking out, according to eyewitnesses. Civil protection forces succeeded in controlling the fire, after strong explosions occurred due to the presence of chemicals used in manufacturing processes. The fire did not result in any injuries or human losses.

To control the huge fire, 10 fire engines were dispatched, and with the increase in the flames and a series of explosions due to barrels of "thinner" that were flying from inside the factory, 10 more fire engines were dispatched, in addition to 3 strategic water tanks to contain the fire, while thick black smoke rose to cover the sky of the place.

A team from the Public Prosecution moved to inspect the fire, and the prosecution requested investigations from the detectives regarding the incident, the factory license file, and civil protection requirements. It also listened to the statements of eyewitnesses to the fire, including the factory guard. According to local media, initial investigations revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit due to increased loads. The fire devoured most of the factory's contents, including chemicals, barrels, and rooms, turning it into ashes.
