Saudi Arabia Urges Its Citizens to Leave Lebanon Immediately
Saudi Arabia has urged its citizens in Lebanon to leave "immediately."
The Saudi embassy in Lebanon said in a statement that it is "closely following the developments of the events taking place in southern Lebanon, and stresses its previous call to all Saudi citizens to abide by the decision to ban travel to Lebanon."
The statement added: "The embassy urges citizens there to leave Lebanese territory immediately, and notes the need for citizens to contact it in the event of any emergency."
There are growing fears that the escalation between the Lebanese Hezbollah and Israel could develop into a war, especially with the failure of proposals to stop the Gaza war.
Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Saturday, "We are in a state of war, and the threats we are exposed to are nothing but a type of psychological warfare."
He added that "the threats we are witnessing are a type of psychological warfare, and the question on everyone's tongues is, is there a war? Yes, we are in a state of war, and there are a large number of martyrs, both civilians and non-civilians, and many villages destroyed due to the Israeli aggression."
