Video: Giraffe grabs baby from car in Texas

A giraffe feeding experience at a wildlife center in Texas, USA, turned scary last week when a giraffe grabbed a child from inside a pickup truck she was riding in.

The video, posted by Jason Totten, the child's father, has gone viral on social media, showing his daughter trying to feed the giraffe only for it to grab her and grab her from the back of the truck during their tour.

The giraffe pushed its head towards the girl and continued to approach as it moved further into the back of the truck. The video then shows the giraffe grabbing the girl and lifting her into the air, while a woman can be heard screaming in the background.

Warren Lewis, chief marketing officer at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, said in a statement that the center was notified on Monday of "an incident involving one of our giraffes" over the weekend.

Lewis said nothing like this has ever happened at Fossil Rim before, but that they are taking "immediate action to ensure this does not happen again."
