While many Egyptians criticized the actions of the co-pilot who announced the death of the pilot during the flight, causing panic, Amr Abdel Zaher, CEO of Sky Vision, confirmed that the co-pilot's goal was exactly the opposite.

He said in a surprising statement that the co-pilot announced to the passengers the death of the pilot and changed the flight's destination, so that they would not panic or cause chaos, then he decided to land in Jeddah, and this is what happened safely and peacefully.

He added: "In such critical cases, the flight path is changed according to international aviation laws, even if the same situation happened to any passenger and not just the crew," according to Al Arabiya.

He also confirmed that the late pilot underwent a medical examination 3 months ago and received a fitness certificate. He explained that his health condition was stable, but he suffered a sudden illness during the flight.

The death report issued by a hospital in Jeddah indicated that the deceased had suffered a heart attack.

In addition, Abdul-Zaher revealed that two doctors who were on board the plane confirmed his death during the flight and about 20 minutes before their arrival, adding that the flight crew dealt with the situation with all necessary measures.
