Manchester Airport Flights Cancelled

A spokesman for Manchester Airport in Britain said that departures had been cancelled and delayed significantly on Sunday after a power outage in the airport area caused widespread disruption.

A significant number of departures were expected to be delayed or cancelled, particularly from terminals one and two, the airport spokesman added, according to Reuters.

The report indicated that power had been restored but the impact of the outage would affect services throughout the day.

"It is recommended that passengers departing from terminals one or two contact their airlines before proceeding to the airport," the spokesman said.

"Passengers departing from terminal three should report to the airport as normal unless advised otherwise by their airlines, but they may be affected by delays," he added.
