The effect of hashish on health
What does hashish do to humans? Marijuana contains chemical compounds that affect the health of the body and mind, and its use may cause addiction, which means causing damage to physical and mental health. Among the damages of marijuana to health and its effects on it, we mention the following:
Feeling euphoria: The chemical substance delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol stimulates the part of the brain responsible for pleasure, and leads to stimulating the secretion of dopamine, which gives a feeling of relaxation and euphoria. This substance enters the blood immediately after smoking marijuana, and peaks within half an hour, and its effect fades within 1-3 hours.
Impact on mental health: In some people, smoking marijuana makes the person feel anxious, fearful, or panic, and the person's chance of developing depression also increases, and it may cause hallucinations, and the person loses contact with reality as he sees or hears things that do not exist, or suffers from paranoia, and if the person suffers from mental disorders, the symptoms may worsen when smoking marijuana.
Disturbed thinking: Marijuana affects thinking, senses, and a person's ability to perceive, and may cause the following disorders:
- Loss of sense of time.
- Hearing sounds louder than normal.
- Seeing colors brighter or more vivid than they actually are.
- Movement disorder.
Addiction: Marijuana causes addiction to every 10 people, which means that the person will not stop using it, which leads to harm to his relationships, job, health, and money, and the risk of addiction increases the younger the person is. Marijuana addiction, if its level in the blood decreases, causes degenerative symptoms, including the following:
- Disturbance.
- Loss of the ability to sleep.
- Nervousness.
- Neglecting food.
Brain weakness: Smoking marijuana makes it difficult to concentrate, learn, and remember things, and may cause changes in the brain, leading to weakness in the centers of alertness, learning, and memory, and lower intelligence scores.
Lung pain: Smoking marijuana causes inflammation of the lungs and irritation, especially if used regularly, causing cough mixed with mucus and breathing problems.
Feeling hungry: Smoking marijuana increases appetite and leads to weight gain.
Very serious harm
Weakness of the heart muscle: Marijuana leads to stress on the heart muscle and increases the pulse to 120 beats per minute, which increases the chance of a heart attack or stroke, and increases the risk in older people or those who suffer from heart disorders.
Risks to the fetus: Smoking marijuana by a pregnant woman increases the risk of the fetus being underweight, and also causes disorders for these children after they reach school age.
