More than ten people were injured in an oil refinery fire in Erbil, Iraq, and the Iraqi Civil Defense said that the fire devoured three refineries and an asphalt warehouse.

Civil defense teams in Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq continue to work to combat the huge fire in the oil refinery that led to the ignition of an asphalt warehouse inside an oil refinery.

In a painful incident, videos of a fire that broke out in a refinery west of Erbil spread across social media.

Local Iraqi media reported on Thursday that the fire broke out after 12 oil tanks exploded.

It stated that the explosion was the result of a fire that broke out in an oil refinery in the town of "Al-Kuwair" southwest of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

It also added that the refinery fire is out of control despite the presence of 35 civil defense teams at the site.

It confirmed that the flames resulting from the fire spread to other fuel tanks, leading to casualties, according to local media.

Local media reported that the fire broke out in crude oil and liquid lime warehouses.
