Netanyahu's Son Implicates Him Again
After the wave of criticism he was subjected to by thousands of Israelis subsided months ago, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared again.
But this time, Yair criticized the Supreme Court's decision to halt an investigation by the State Comptroller into the failures surrounding the October 7 attack, when Hamas attacked 11 Israeli military bases and 22 settlements. He accused Israel's highest court of "covering up what happened in favor of the left," as he put it.
Yair, 32, also accused the army and the General Security Service (Shin Bet) of treason in the face of the Hamas attack. He wrote in comments on his "X" account, wondering: "What are they trying to hide? If there was no treason, why are they afraid of external and independent bodies investigating?", according to what was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
This came after the Supreme Court decided to halt an investigation by State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman into the October 7 failures, pending a court hearing in July.
It also came months after senior leaders in the security, intelligence and military services announced that they would take responsibility for their failure to repel the October attack.
Netanyahu had previously refused to accept any responsibility for Hamas attacks, and hinted at shortcomings on the part of the military. His son also jumped to his support, directing heavy-handed accusations at the military, the Shin Bet and the Supreme Court as well.
