Alexandria Stadium in Egypt witnessed, on Friday, an incident that caused terror and panic, as a fire broke out in the stadium during an Egyptian League match.
A fire broke out in the stadium during the second half of the match between Pyramids, the league leader, and Smouha SC.
Fire engines intervened to control the fire, which was found to have broken out in the main control room and the stadium's cabin cables. The match referee decided to stop the match and have the players leave the stadium until the fire was controlled.
A state of panic prevailed among the spectators in the stadium, who left their seats after the fire broke out immediately after it happened, before the referee decided to cancel the match.
