Israel: 8 soldiers killed in serious incident in Gaza

Israeli media reported on Saturday that 8 Israeli soldiers were killed in an explosion of an armored personnel carrier during the battles in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Hadashot Bezaman website said that "at around 5:00 a.m. in Gaza, an anti-tank missile was fired at an armored vehicle carrying 8 soldiers and officers. It exploded immediately and caught fire completely, killing all the fighters sleeping inside. The eight were killed immediately and burned inside the vehicle."

He added: "Israeli helicopters carrying soldiers from the Rafah incident landed at Beilinson and Shaare Zedek hospitals."

The source confirmed that the army informed the families of eight Israeli soldiers that their sons were killed in the battles in the Gaza Strip after their vehicle was hit by an anti-tank missile.

The number of Israeli soldiers killed continues to rise since the beginning of the war on October 7. Sources say the number has exceeded 600, in addition to thousands of wounded.

An Israeli report revealed on Friday that senior security officials in the country estimate that the military operation in Rafah will end in a few days.

According to the report, published by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, security officials estimate that the operation in Rafah will end within two weeks after the evacuation of all civilian residents.
