The cemetery was discovered in the Abu Sir cemetery, which is of great interest to students of ancient Egyptian society during this era.
Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mustafa Waziri, said in a statement today, Friday, that this new discovery, along with previous discoveries at the Abu Sir site, will shed more light on the historical changes that occurred in Egypt during the turbulent times of the sixth and fifth centuries BC.
A new and exciting archaeological discovery
The Abu Sir antiquities area is located in the south of Giza Governorate, and its name is derived from the ancient name (Bar Osir), which means the seat of the god Osiris. It includes the tombs of the kings of the Fifth Dynasty, the remains of some pyramids, and temples to the sun.
Marslav Barta, director of the Czech mission, stated that the tomb was built in the form of a well ending in a burial chamber, and that although the upper part of the tomb was not found intact, the burial chamber contains many scenes and rich hieroglyphic writings.
He added that the well leading to the cemetery contained many remains of scenes that were part of the scenery of the neighboring cemetery, which was built for one of the military leaders during that period.
He explained that the burial chamber of Djehuti-em-Hat is rich in texts and scenes, as on the northern wall (entrance) there is a long series of religious texts against snake bites, taken from the texts of the pyramids. The southern and western walls were also engraved with scenes of ritual offerings and a large list of offerings, while the ceiling has a view of a journey. The sun crosses the sky in its morning and evening boats, accompanied by hymns to the rising and setting of the sun.
For his part, Muhammad Mujahid, deputy director of the Czech mission, revealed that the mission found inside the burial chamber the coffin belonging to the deceased and that it was made of stone and decorated with hieroglyphic texts.

He added that the upper side of the coffin lid and its longer sides are decorated with various texts from the Book of the Dead. He noted that the outer sides of the coffin are decorated with excerpts from the texts of the coffins and pyramids.
He explained that no funerary finds were found inside the cemetery, as the cemetery was robbed.
Mujahid said that studying the skeletal remains of the owner of the tomb showed that Jahuti Imhat died at a relatively young age, around twenty-five, and evidence indicates that he was suffering from some diseases due to his job, such as erosion of the spine as a result of sitting for long periods, and he also suffered from fragility. Severe in the bones.
