Queen Rania embarrasses a CNN anchor
Queen Rania, wife of Jordanian King Abdullah II, accused the American network CNN of biasing towards the Israeli narrative in the Gaza war, without verifying the accuracy of the information.
King Rania said, in an interview with the American network, on Tuesday, that at the beginning of the war, the CNN website published a headline about Israeli children being found beheaded, and upon reading the article it becomes clear that the information published was not independently verified.
The Queen asked veteran American broadcaster Christiane Amanpour, saying, “Can you publish a devastating claim like this, which has not been verified, if it is coming from the Palestinians?!”
The Queen considered this evidence of a “blatant double standard,” as the Western world condemns the Hamas attack, while it does not condemn the Israeli bombing of Gaza, or call for a ceasefire.
Queen Rania said: “People across the Middle East, including Jordan, are shocked and disappointed by the world’s response to this unfolding catastrophe.”
She added: "I cannot describe to you the depth of grief, pain and shock that we feel here in Jordan. We are all united in this grief, regardless of our origins. We cannot believe the pictures that we see every day from Gaza. We watch these pictures as we go to sleep and wake up." on her.
We have seen Palestinian mothers who had to write the names of their children on their hands, because the possibility of them being bombed to death, and their bodies turning into corpses, is very high.”
She emphasized, "I want to remind the world that Palestinian mothers love their children as much as any mother in the world, and that they have to face this is unbelievable. And equally."
Queen Rania stressed, “The silence is deafening, and for many in our region it makes the Western world implicated, through the support and cover they give to Israel, which is trying to defend itself. Many in the Arab world look to the Western world not only to tolerate this, but to support it as well. This is something "Disgraceful and very frustrating for us."
